Abstract. In this talk I will discuss the classifications of type ADE which appear in many fields of
mathematics. They range from quiver representations and classification of simple Lie algebras to
Klein groups and cluster algebras. In the first part I will briefly discuss some of these classifications.
In the second part I will describe a recent one related to finite free resolutions over local rings.
